Henri Bourgeois - Le temps des vendanges

We havested today the single vineyard of Pinot noir "Beaujeu" located on the " Côte des Monts Damnés " (Damned Hill). This single vineyard, planted in 1999, is characterized by the originality of its soil which as the remaining of the " Côte des Monts Damnés " consists of kimmeridgian marls. It is an argillaceous vein containing some aggregates of shells dating from the kimmeridgian era. The collected Pinot noir grapes will be put today after a complete de-stemming (separating separation bays of the stalks in order to avoid the contact of the stalks with must) in one of our wooden trunk-shaped barrels for a cold maceration.
